MZooM is a software that runs on Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000 and Windows XP.

MZooM is a high precision freeware Mandelbrot, Julia, Newton and other fractal generator. Fractals as large as 10'000x10'000 pixels may be generated in a simple way.

MZooM can generate fractals in 8bits or 24 bit colour deep. They can be exported to standard file formats such as Gif, Tiff, Bmp or Jpeg.

Zoom can be achieved from any fractal to a whopping scale of 5E12. Fractals can also be viewed in 3D from any angle.

On installation, MZooM will default to French menus. However it is possible to set the menus to English from the configuration screen.
The user's manual is, for the moment, available only in French.

To install MZooM:

  • Read the licence notice.
  • Download the install of MZooM using the link at the bottom of this page.
  • Double click on the install file msetup.exe. Accept all install default values.
  • The install will create a program menu MZooM on Start - Programs - MZooM
  • Set the menus in English using the configuration screen.
  • Note: the install file msetup.exe is not needed to run the software and can be deleted after installation.

  • MZooM was written by Georges Rosset, Geneva, Switzerland.
  • This software is Freeware. It can only be distributed free of charge.
  • The sale or resale of MZooM is strictly prohibited.
  • The license authorises you to use MZooM exclusively in a non-commercial way. For any other uses, please contact the author.
  • Mass distribution of MZooM (Cd, Internet server, etc), even for free, requires an authorisation from the author.
  • Reverse engineering, modification of the executable code and commercial utilisation of MZooM are prohibited.
  • No warranty whatsoever is given with this software. In no event shall the author of MZooM be liable to anyone for any consequential damages in connection with the use of MZooM.
